The Event Barn is located on our operational farm with over 250 acres of scenic views in Pinckney, MI (48169), this modern venue features a custom built event barn, designed with an emphasize on hosting events. Our unique, natural setting is perfect for hosting everything from small social gatherings, to large full-scale corporate events. Our land provides several areas that allow for recreational items such as: bounce houses / lawn games. A photographers dream, every season at Schell Family Farm looks like a painting, from sunflower fields, to snow covered pine trees you’re guaranteed to always find the perfect shot. We encourage all potential clients to schedule a short visit to our farm to fully capture the essence that can only be felt in person.

Our Barn resides around some of the most picturesque recreational areas available in Southern Michigan. Yet is still centrally located between several major highways (i94,i96,us23) and large cities. Your guests will have no problem finding hotel accommodations, or getting to the Event Barn itself as it’s less than a quarter mile from a main highway (M-36). Several shuttle, and taxi options are also available in the area so your guests can travel safely to and from our venue.

Local Amenities Include:

  • Food (Zukey Lake Tavern, Riverside Pizza, Go Taco, Townsquare Pizza)
  • Entertainment (Zukey Lake Tavern Roof Deck, Dio Pinckney Theater, Hamburg Pub)
  • Recreation (Chain of lakes – 9 lakes sprawling over 8 miles, Hudson Mills State Park, Peach Mountain Recreation area)
  • Golf (Whispering Pines GC, Timber Trace GC, Rush Lake GC, Huron Meadows GC)

Surrounding Towns:

The quaint town of Dexter is just a 12-minute drive away from the farm, it has many entertainment options, from pubs to fine dining. Brighton is 15 minutes away and home to larger stores including Costco. Brighton also has several hotels and tons of restaurant options. Howell is also 15 minutes away, and boasts many options for dining and lodging. You can essentially find anything you could possibly need within 15 minutes of our farm. If you really want to get out and enjoy the nightlife, shows, art and unique entertainment is available in Ann Arbor about 30 minutes away. For those who want to live in the fast lane, Detroit is a 65-minute drive away, while the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport is 55 minutes away. Detroit features everything you’d expect from a metropolitan area, entertainment venues, 3 large casinos, 100s of restaurants. It’s an amazing city! Lansing is about 45 minutes away, and also has an airport that may be easier for your guests to fly into.

What do events cost at Schell Family Farm?

Every event is unique to us at Schell Family Farm. Since we are a fully operational farm prices tend to vary depending on several factors. This is why we encourage our potential guests to schedule a visit so we can personally come up with package for you!

Catering?

We allow guests to provide their own catering, or we can recommend catering options for any event. 

What type of events are permitted at the Barn?

The sky is the limit! We are open to absolutely everything, schedule a visit and we can decide the best way to host your event!

What is the maximum allowed guests?

The Barn can hold up to 300 guests. 

What is included with Barn Rental?

As we come to a close for Christmas season, we want to acknowledge one of our wonderful staff members for his generosity! Today, while we were giving away trees to those who in need, Larry just showed up to volunteer his time. Chris didn't ask, he didn't ask, he just came to the farm and told Chris he was there to help. It's amazing to see this young man's kindness show through his actions! This is just one example of the awesome staff we are fortunate to have!

It's the last weekend of our 2022 season! We still have a variety of gorgeous pre-cut trees available. Although our trees are not ready to cut yet, we take pride in the quality of trees we sell. These beauties were picked up by us from a reputable farm that we trust in northern Michigan.
